Justin and Sarah were married on September 2nd, with a ceremony and reception at Maplehurst Farm.
I was thrilled when Justin and Sarah told me their wedding was planned for Maplehurst Farm, because this venue is known for its “rustic elegance.” It has so many options for a stunning wedding day: gardens; a stately farm home with a large, wrap-around deck; fields; lush trees and flowers; a spacious barn; and a beautiful canopy of maple trees covering the driveway entrance. They picked the perfect venue to showcase their love of the outdoors! It was a beautiful backdrop for their rustic wedding day.
I thought it was particularly beautiful that Justin had asked his father, Lynn, to be one of his groomsmen. What a wonderful way to honor his father. Lynn is the longtime owner of a local jewelry store, Strauss Jewelers, and he personally custom designed the rings for the wedding.
We were able to set aside time for a “first look” with Sarah and Justin, which is always a very special part of the wedding day. This is when the bride and groom spend a few private moments alone after seeing one another for the first time. Sarah also wanted a “first look” with her father—and, as you’ll see by viewing the images, one of the most emotional moments of the day was during that time. Both father and daughter were wiping tears. There’s something beautifully special about the love a dad has for his girl. (I may have had a little dust get in my eye at that time as well!)
I loved that Justin and Sarah weren’t afraid to be goofy and just have a good time, stealing opportunities to make funny faces at one another during their portraits. You can tell just by being around them that they are a perfect fit! On the other hand, they were also capable of being so sweet and tender. One of my favorite moments in any wedding is capturing the look on a groom’s face as he sees his bride walk down the aisle—and Justin definitely didn’t disappoint. He was completely enraptured. Witnessing the look of love and tenderness on his face as he watched Sarah walk down the aisle was touching to photograph.
The whole wedding party was a hoot! There was so much joy and liveliness at this wedding–they were truly a fun-loving group of people who made my job that much more enjoyable.
Thank you, Justin and Sarah, for giving me the honor of photographing your wedding day! I hope these images will bring you much joy as you relive your beautiful day, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
