2016 Year in Review | Bella Vita Creative | Pacific Northwest Photographer

I just finished viewing my very first Year in Review video (from 2012), and was floored by how much has happened since then. I started Bella Vita Creative during a year when so many personal things were happening, including my daughter’s college graduation, engagement, and marriage, followed by news that we would be blessed with the arrival of our first grandchild the following year. Wow!

Sometimes I feel like George Bailey in the classic movie, It’s a Wonderful Life–like life is just zooming by and I’m standing here with my guardian angel, observing it from the sidelines. Do you ever feel that way? (“Why no, Dana, I don’t ever feel that way, thank you very much.”) I probably shouldn’t wax too sentimental in my blog posts; you might realize how wacky I am.

Anyhoo, 2016 was the busiest ever for Bella Vita Creative and for that, I am very thankful. God has blessed me with wonderful clients and I honestly feel that meeting each one of them is not an accident. Weddings book-ended the year, starting with Ranae & Aaron’s Orthodox Christian ceremony at beautiful St. Demetrius in Seattle, Washington.

I was honored to shoot more weddings this year than any other. Each one was unique and beautiful in its own way, just like the couples who honored me with the privilege of photographing them.

Senior photos, nature images, children’s portraits, and head shots. I love them all. One thing I realized this last year is how much I love, love, love capturing images of children. For that reason, I am looking forward to 2017 and plan to focus more of my energy and time toward fine art children’s and family portraiture (while still doing some weddings as well).

I can’t thank you all enough for giving me the honor of photographing you and/or your loved ones. It is very humbling to me and a blessing as well. My hope is always that I have blessed you as much as you have blessed me.
