It’s now two days after Christmas 2013 and I’m more jazzed than ever. In two weeks (God willing), I plan to be in Phoenix for the largest photography conference in the United States. The commitment and financial sacrifice to attend ImagingUSA is one more step in the direction of kicking Bella Vita Creative (and myself) up a notch.
My goal for 2013 was to kick everything up a notch as well, in every area (including purchasing a better camera). Check and check. I had more clients, attended more workshops, bought better gear, and fell more in love with photography than ever.
I joined the newly-formed Skagit Wedding Society and am planning (hoping) to become more involved in engagement and wedding shoots in 2014. Connecting with other photographers, vendors, and especially my clients, has been a true joy.
For 2014, I’m looking ahead to creating even more beautiful imagery and relationships with my clients. It is such a blessing to be a photographer and it fulfills a passion I’ve had forever: to create beauty and bring joy to others. Thank you, thank you, thank you, to God and to my clients for allowing me the opportunity to bless you and be blessed in return!
My reward comes in the words of a client who, just before Christmas, sent me this email: “You have recorded and preserved some of the exact things with my son and daughter that make me smile . . . memories that sometimes go away when they stop doing those funny things. Now I’ll have them to look at all the time. Every time I look at the pictures of my son, especially where he’s looking right into the camera, I think “There’s my beautiful little boy.” (Not that I’d ever say anything like that to him.) Thank you so much. This whole experience has been wonderful, and you gave me exactly the pictures I was hoping for.”
My heart melted upon reading those words. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Thank you to everyone who allowed me the privilege of taking their photos this year. I had a blast and I hope you did, too.
