Most of those who know me are aware that my mom passed away in July after about three years of progressive dementia.
My husband and I had planned a bucket list trip to Ireland for me to attend a dream photography workshop the same week Mom died. Needless to say, the trip was cancelled, resulting in a large financial loss.
Three months later, I became ill and had to be hospitalized for an emergency appendectomy.
I had a reason to get well quickly: I was scheduled to shoot a wedding on beautiful Samish Island three weeks later! Not only did I shoot that wedding, but it was one of the most lovely experiences of my entire year.
All of that to say: I thought that perhaps I wouldn’t have a lot of images to share at the end of this year, what with all of the unexpected events of 2017. I considered skipping my traditional Year in Review, but I’m so glad I didn’t!
When I view the images you are about to see, my heart is touched beyond words. To think that I was given the privilege of capturing so many beautiful moments…well, it simply humbles and thrills me at the same time.
Thank you to everyone who has allowed me to record your beautiful life through my photography.
As long as God allows, I hope to continue preserving more memories for my clients and loved ones. It is truly my heart’s joy.
